The Chiropractor To See In Edmonton

I Am A Second Generation Chiropractor

I had a bit of an advantage in my introduction to the benefits of chiropractic care as I am a second generation chiropractor. My father was a chiropractor and we were raised to expect good health through regular adjustments.

The best part of growing up in our house was knowing that my father helped people feel better naturally. This understanding, to help people maximize their health potential, gave me my motivation to become a chiropractor. I loved the lifestyle growing up in a chiropractic household. When we had ailments we expected them to resolve by the natural healing ability of the body made more effective through the chiropractic adjustment.

I attended Palmer College of Chiropractic-West in Sunnyvale California, graduating in 1990. My time at Palmer-West was filled with challenging classes and ideas. We were exposed to the classic ideas of holistic health as well as some of the newer ideas involving more of a musculoskeletal emphasis. I think that this combination produces a chiropractor who understands how to correct the problem most efficiently.

While at school I had an experience with a shoulder problem that was resistant to therapy for around 2 months. I had never experienced this kind of issue before and was very frustrated with it. My uncle, who is also a chiropractor, was visiting the Lake Tahoe area and we arranged to meet him there. He gave me my first treatment using the Activator instrument and not only did it get rid of my shoulder problem, but I felt a higher level of wellness in my body than I had ever felt before. It was this experience that helped me become an Activator practitioner.

My Chiropractic Lifestyle

My wife, Margaret, and I have been married since 1982. We have four children, Stephen, Esther, John, and Helen. Stephen is married and we became grandparents on December 01, 2006 when Lily was born. We love to share pictures of our little granddaughter as you will see in our office. I enjoy gardening and golfing. I hope to see my plants grow up and my golf score go down this year. Sometimes I get engrossed in books and go on reading jags that last for weeks. I really do enjoy working with my hands whether that is home repair or car repair, at least I make my best effort at it.

I receive chiropractic adjustments almost monthly. Sometimes I require more care as a result of, for instance a fall I took in the winter of 2006. It took about 3 treatments for my low back to relax and the symptoms to go away. Nearly two weeks later I found myself with a moderate to severe neck issue similar to a whiplash injury that then took about another month to resolve. Now I am back to my optimal health schedule. The journey toward optimal health is just that, a journey, and I am enjoying the ride. In our office we offer a different perspective toward the management of health in general. We believe that the least invasive means should be utilized to produce the most effective outcome always keeping the long term view in mind.

Can chiropractic cure a child's ear infections?
Chiropractic isn't a cure for anything. Nor is it a treatment for ear infections. However, many children who suffer with ear infections also suffer from spinal problems in their neck, compromising nerves to the ear, depressing the immune system and preventing proper drainage. Can chiropractic help? Find out!
Why does chiropractic work?
Chiropractic works because your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body, controls and regulates every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. A chiropractor locates and reduces areas of nervous system compromise (usually along the spine) so your capacity to heal is restored. Chiropractic works by helping your body work as it was designed.
